2025 income · Census CPS ASEC 2026

Household income by age

The whole household’s total for the year. Commas, a $ sign, or k and m work.
What counts, and who is the householder

Count the money income of everyone in the household, received on a regular basis before taxes and other deductions. Leave out capital gains and noncash benefits. The householder is the person in whose name the home is owned or rented; the age groups use that person’s age. These are Census Bureau definitions.

Each tick is one household in 100, from lowest to highest 2025 income. The curve above them is what each one made, on a scale that spreads out the lower incomes.

Median household income by age of householder, 2025

The ± figure is the survey’s 90% margin of error. This page reads its medians straight from the household records, the same way as the household income calculator; the Census Bureau interpolates within $2,500 brackets, so its published medians differ slightly, and each one here is within its margin of error.
